Gender equality remains a burning issue even when women play equally essential roles in driving the rural economy in India. Women have always faced the inequitable distribution of domestic chores besides other responsibilities such as fetching water, collecting firewood, and working on farms. This severely impacts their physical security, adult education opportunities, productivity, income generation capacity, nutritional status, and overall health and well-being.
Helping women find their voice is profoundly empowering and has a ripple effect on families and society. REACH believes that women's issues cannot be addressed in isolation but within their social and institutional setup. Women's representation is crucial for a thriving society in social, political, and economic processes. Our flagship project, “REACH Sakhi,” is geared towards mobilizing rural women into Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and developing their leadership, skill development, and entrepreneurship capacities.
While working with economically backward strata of Children needing a more conducive atmosphere for studies, barriers to their physical, intellectual, and emotional development. All girls are concerned in their transitory phases from childhood to adolescence; several changes occur in their physique and mind between 12-18 years with the following objectives.
Washable Sakhi Sanitary Pads Project Sakhi Pads are reusable sanitary pads that can be washed and used for up to 18 months. They come in two sizes: Sakhi Maxi Pad which can soak for 6-8 hours,and Sakhi Super Maxi Pad,which can drink for 8-10 hours. They are made from carefully sourced high-quality fabric.
Along with the product, we can provide menstrual health and hygiene awareness programs. They are economical/more affordable than conventional pads found in the market.
